The We’koqma’q Day Care is a non-profit organization that is open to working parents as well as secondary and post-secondary students.
Children 12 months – 4 years are welcome either full time or part time. Whether your child is enrolled for a few days per week or Monday through Friday, we require attendance for the full day. In order to maintain quality programming, we are unable to offer partial-day or drop in service.
Head Start Program
The We’koqma’q Head Start program is a non-profit organization supports parents and families in the following situations:
Parents are on social assistance
Families that have a child with special needs
Grandparents raising their grandchildren
Families with an only child
Families that have a very shy child
Families with children that have no previous experience in a daycare setting
The Head Start program has eight seats and offers care for half-days throughout the week. Children must be potty trained before entering the program.
Parents or grandparents are expected to be involved by attending class once per week with their child, supporting fund-raising initiatives, participating in parent-child road trips, and attending workshops and parental meetings.
Our daycare Head Start educators strive to offer a healthy, nutritional and fun environment for all children who enter the program. Entrusting your child to our care means that we will do everything possible to enhance their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. We see our services as a partnership with the community.
